Working for Sysco will take a toll on your body...as much as your ears do when listening to Sisqo...

 

You'll loose a lot of weight and have a nice set of abs from all the picking, twisting and dropping. I used to be a beer guy which is almost the same thing. You'll run around like a lunatic. Most of your stops won't have enough room for a Suburban to park in their lots, but your gonna put your truck in there! The upside is Sysco is Union and they pay very well. If your up for it physically its worth it.

 

Good pay, work is harder than you think. Also if you're on probation (90 days before you're officially part of the union) they'll cut you for anything, calling in sick, getting hurt, being too slow etc.

You will get hurt but like I said better keep your mouth shut if you want the job. Worst injury I had was delivering to a cheesecake factory, only entrance for delivering was on a ramp which was slick with grease, had about 200 lbs stacked on the dolly, slipped and that landed on my head after I fell backwards. Didn't tell anyone either.

Long hours. Good pay but you will be using muscles you never knew you had. Parking in less than ideal spaces. Up and down stairs with a hand truck. Jerk restaurant owners and pricky chefs. Lots of product returns and paperwork. I could go on but that is the view from the customer.

See if you can do a ride along.

 

In Denver they are so desperate for drivers they are offering a 7,500 sign on bonus. I talk to some of the drivers when im delivery chips there and they say the same thing as the poster above.

 

I worked out of the Central Florida location for a couple of years and it was really hard work but the best pay that I have ever made. Central Florida location has it on lock. They track all of your numbers and are very strict with everything there but the reward is the payoff. The guys that run that place are ex military but are a great group of guys. The work week is hectic, always being on call never know when you will either have off or get called in. It's a lot to deal with but if you do get behind of anything like that, they have lead drivers and also other drivers that can come out and help you as well as supervisors. Yes, you can get written up for a lot of things, so keep your trailer clean, stay off the cell phone while driving, and don't tail gate anybody. If you do all those, stay on time or early with your stops, you can make it their, it's just a matter of getting through the rough schedule

 

First 3 to 5 years you going to work your ##* off like you never done before very physical up down stairs with your two wheels loaded the good part well maintaine trucks great benefits.
