The place does a great job on food and service, Huge locals following

 

Nothing on TA' s menu is so highly sought after that they can't keep ample supplies of everything in the walk in freezer.

Might as well throw my .02 out there as well. I run out west, And I've been around for awhile. I've seen guys open the window, and throw out their trash, when a trash can is just across the isle from them. I've seen drivers dump piss bottles, or just throw them on the ground. Then, there are the drivers that think they are Indy car drivers running around the T/S at 20 0r 25mph. Drivers cutting behind someone when they are trying to back in. This new breed of drivers we have today, is "ME, ME, ME, I, I, I"!!!! I can understand why T/S management lets thing get run down, and WE, as drivers(not all of us) are to blame. If someone or corp. like TA, builds a new T/S, with in 6 months it's starting to get run down. Why everyone asks? Because management gets tired of repairing bathroom doors that drivers tear up, picking up the garbage that gets thrown on the ground in the lot. The profit margin is low, the pay is low, and no one wants to work hard for minimum wage. So over the course of time, the place goes to ######. As far as the food/ restaurants, some far, some good, and some suck. Just my thoughts on the matter.

NOT TRUE.... The 76 truckstops that started in the 70's and went thru the 90's were GREAT..They were FOR the driver..They were truckstops with Excellent atmospheres!!

We Gripe becvause of the way (like you say) Investors and Rich Guru's HURT us!

change is NOT good...LEAVE THINGS ALONE!!!!!!

The skelleys..76's and mom n pop truckstops.....Catered to us..Waited on us..And made our stays enjoyable... NOT IN TODAYS WORLD..Its all about capitolism and heavy profit.

Heck..The waitresses dont even have Glass coffee pots anymore keeping our cups full,,(an example of the simple things we looked forward to)

now..They put a Plastic coffee pot next to you with lukewarm coffee in it......Yet its a sin when their turnover is high due to light tips.....

see........Its Done completely wrong these days.....Its everyone for themselves and customer service has been a treat of the past

 

I know that this is an older post but you are correct with the Truckstops of America, I go back to '78 and the T/A in Perrysburg / Toledo Oh.

 

If you actually go back that far--you would correctly refer to that area as T5!--LMAO
