My 94 t800 split fender hood is rubbing against the fender bad!! It looks as if the hood isn’t wide enough where it sits to the Fender and is cracking the fender and rubbing out my hood where it meets the fender. anyone ever seen this happen? I’m starting to wonder if the hood was repaired by previous owner and when they fiberglassed the hood it pulled in too tight cause I cannot see how I can get the hood to stop rubbing except for a new hood and fenders. Any info would be appreciated.

EVERY T800 I've encountered the quarter fenders bolted onto the front of the cab rub on the hood fenders. Can lower them a bit and adjust hood stops I believe. Still had to re-fibreglass them every 12 to 18 months to prevent them rubbing through.

Actually seen 1 or 2 that rubbed almost completely through. We ended up fibreglassing a piece of wide flatbar into the underside of the fender on one truck. Not sure how well it worked out. The guy sold the truck a couple months later.

The more worn one is the driver side and it sits tighter on that side. Iv tried to adjust every which way and it’s still no good. Just blows my mind they make junk like this and sell it. My old trucks were w900 full hoods and much nicer. This really messes with my ocd. I think I’m gonna sell this hood and fenders after I get it fixed and do a whole new hood and fender and just be done with it cause I’m repainting truck anyway

Yep. That's a typical T800 quirk. Its crazy that re-fibreglassing the fenders is part of yearly maintenance.

If you're painting the truck anyways, it'd probably be much cheaper to patch those areas than to buy a new hood.

It’s a high hood and I’m converting it to a sloped, but I’ll repair the hood so it sells higher. Ya it blows my mind this is how they build them. It was pretty much like this from the previous owner so I knew i had to repair regardless but the #### thing is getting little chips and cracks all over. Thanks for clearing that up though. At least I know there isn’t something wrong with it except poor engineering.

Those hoods by design look like they have a rough ride. Having the mating point directly above the front axle has to be a rough bouncy ride just made worse on the ones with heavy ply wide base steer tires.

K100 coe doghouses would crack away from the front wall above the radiator because of that same reason.

    Mr79W900A Thanks this.
