Hello all , I have a 2002 T800 tri-axle dump truck. When I try to set the parking brake I have an air leak out the firewall that comes from the exhaust line of the dash valve. Replaced the valve , same problem . Local mechanic said it could be a bad chamber , still had original chambers so decide to replace all four rear chambers , still same problem . Called bendix they said I might have gotten a bad dash valve , so I replaced the dash valve again , still not fixed . A mechanic told me it could be the foot valve that went bad , replaced that , still the same problem . I am at my wits end and could sure use some advice . Anything would be helpful .

sounds like you have bumped the hand valve down a little.

Look at this chart. #18B is an inversion valve that is normally open at all times. It's purpose is if you have a leak in a chamber it will divert the air so you can still safely stop before all air is lost. Between it and the chamber is #16 which is your quick release valve is directly connected to the dash valve through the inversion valve that is normally open. If it goes bad it will let air leak back all the way back to the dash valve. All though one would think the problem is under the dash the problem is outside and venting all the way back because of a bad diaphragm.
Since you changed everything else and you're sure it's not a bad connection then I would think it's that quick release valve. You could remove the line between it and the inversion valve and see if air comes out before you go buy one. There should be no air with the brake valve popped.

Don't asked me how this thread got closed? It wasn't meant to be. :smt017

Anyways it's back open if some one has more ideas. I'm kind of curious about this problem.
