Just a different observation, we have generations that have never been taught respect, generosity, kindness or communication skills. This leads to idiots being given guns and the resulting chaos.

FYI- I spoke to the OKC police department's public information officer a couple of hours ago and he said the driver was moved from critical to stable condition and he's expected to make it.

They've gotten statements from both the driver and the security guard but still haven't presented the case to the D.A. for a decision on whether or not to press charges.

They aren't releasing the names of either the driver or the guard unless the D.A. decides to prosecute.

Well, actually what it costs is immaterial. I look for a free spot, if there aren’t any I grab a pay spot. I turn in the receipt and my carrier reimburses me. Either way, I have to park somewhere.

If you’re going to have any armed at your location at least have it be local PD officer like the St. Louis loves does

It is not that simple. A truck stop can't just call up the local police and demand they provide an officer dedicated to your truck stop.

No, you can't "demand" a cop, but anyone can call their local department and get the typical rates for an off-duty cop to work security. The cops tend to fight over those gigs b/c it is easy money.

How could you need arm security at that place? Earle is literally in the middle of nowhere!

They need to give that ####hole a MASSIVE overhaul. I was there back around October for a trailer swap and almost got attacked by a prostitute. I'm in TAT and this girl had me rethinking my life choices. She said she wanted food. I handed her some canned goods and extra fruit that I keep. She then said she'd "do anything for $20" and asked that I "escort her to and pay for a room" down at local Super 8. So I asked her was it a hot meal she was wanting. She agreed so I went to hand her the $20 so that she could get a bite at either that McDonald's or Subway. Well with my luck, the ATM was on the fritz. I told her to wait while I went to drain the bladder. The ##### trailed me all the way to the bathroom until the aforementioned officer (mentioned in the quote above) intervened. Thankfully, I was able to get her the $20 and hoped she'd go away. Dumb broad still insisted on ####ing me even as I declined with the officer present. She even tried to steal a bottle of juice in front of him. For any wondering, no I didn't have sex with her. Even if I was single (happily married for nearly a decade), the fact the the ever-present scent of week old piss on her was all I needed to run the other direction. After that ordeal, I didn't sleep because when the dayshift officer left at shift change, they returned. I sat up 7.5 hours with my claw hammer and butcher knives by my side. As I dozed off, they started shooting in the area. After my hours returned and the PTI was over, I left there and never went back again. I even told my company that they'd fire my ### before I'd EVER set foot in the area again.
