Ok people let me say this .I don't think a dog should be allowed in a restaurant either ,but to go in and also get a shower is not bad . Think about this we all go in a shower and don't know who are what has been in there and what they might have had or have, keeping clean even for your dog is o my right. Take the dogs own towel and things in dry him with his towel and dry him with his hairdryer. Come on people it's crazy to act this way...people has issues and it keeps some folks calm... if you think about it we have bee. Told truck stops are having problems with bed bugs cone on see what your upset about is your not seeing the other issues ..we are training our dog and yes as a service dog for many reasons ..out here on the road is getting worse and it's people hurting stealing and being stupid ....i went in restroom and looked at the feet next to me and it was a man he was in the next stall pissing ...when I walked out she /it was in the women's. Come on stop barking about animals start barking about the worst .....i have to make a living and I am a clean person. And my dog is also ..so stop fussing....my dog will be a me to protect me and my truck...i would rather bathe after a dog than have to bathe after some truckers who goes week without a bathe. And I still say no to dog in restaurant....but a shower and walking him in the store isn't a big deal...if you ever go in where someone has had a dog in there and it is nasty change showers report ..i clean up after my dog and keep him checked at the vet so get over it ..think about other issues....

I have a dog with me so don't think I'm bashing them. Just because you are a dog lover doesn't mean every one is. What about folks with pet allergies? Should they suffer because I want to take my dog in the store? What about people with a severe fear of dogs. Even though it's on a leash and muzzled they are still scared shirtless. That's as real as a dog keeping a nut job calm. No respect of others is a lot of what's wrong with this industry today. Hard to believe common sense and common courtesy are not a trait people are born with any more, apparently they won't learn it either

Iowa 80 TS has a "Dogomat" self service pet wash located at the truck wash. Other TS could probably make some money with one of these.

I do not know of a health dept in the country that would sanction dogs (except legitimate service dogs) being allowed in restaurants or other facilities (showers for rent in this case) where the bacteria/virus transfer between humans and animals would be so easy, and therefore a health risk to the general population. Haven't you seen " No shirts No Shoes No Service signs? There is a health reason for that also.
It is those standards that separate the United States and other 1st world nations from 3rd World status. If you want to take a bath with your dog, be my guest , in your own home. Don't subject me to the possible infections and illness that could easily occur, no matter what else may have happened in that facility with humans before I got there.

It's ridiculous how easy it seems to be to get any animal designated as a "service" animal today. In July, I took four flights in the span of ten days, and the "service" dogs I saw were a 13-year-old terrier mix, some nondescript Heinz 57, and a poodle. I don't buy into this abuse of the "service animal" label.

Ok...I need a shower. Where's my service iguana?
