Says it requires Android 2.1 and up. If you go through an actual Verizon store, not a partner, they can most likely help you. -
Google nexus 7 2013 edition wifi 32gb version. Inexpensive and has latest and greatest from google it's self. Not skinned or heavily modified by a third party supplier ie Samsung, LG, Sony, etc. Only tablet to buy.
MsJamie and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
I've fired Microsoft and Apple!!! I've had IPhone, Nokia 928 and now I'm a happy user of Android phones. I have two of them and I'm 100% happy. I have (actually my wife does have) an IMac and my opinion about that one will make any Apple fan to scream. I have a Toshiba PC that I bought with Windows 8 installed. Well, I've quit the the warranty (anyway is a fake) by completely formating my hard disk and installed Linux Mint 16. I cannot be happier. I'm experiencing on the sme computer Fedora. This one requires some computer/programming skills and actually I love that.
For Android phones you have a lot of useful free apps for trucking including here an app Trucker Path, that has updates on weight stations if they are open or not. You need a good internet plan on your phone.
I've had all GPS units for truck starting with the first Rand McNelly. 2 units went out at a few days distance from the warranty expiration day. Now, I'm a "happy" user of Garmin 760 LMT. Routing is driving you crazy, even if you are trained by CIA to keep your calm in any situation. . Database is 2 years behind. In Canada is almost useless, you cannot rely on that unit if you want to drive legal. No truck stops, no Canadian driving hours, a lot of streets missing from the map, very often the routing to a truck stop takes detours for no reason or driving you trough the worse traffic instead of take a 1,5 miles longer route that would be more trucker friendly. I just cannot understand this unit. Also, the interface is stupid. You need a lot of clicks to go back to the map. Driving and a lot of clicks is just not safe for me.
From my researches, drivers barking in the parking lot, Internet, news and other sources I've found that Android and Linux are the way to go. At least for me. Also, there are two Android tablets that are on my future plans. One is the Truckertablet already mentioned here and it seems there is another one more powerful, Prestigio Carbon Tablet. If anybody has an opinion about these two tablets, please post.
So, the bottom line is : Linux and Android all the way. I've got sick and tired to be ripped of by these big corporations. I prefer to spend my time learning new things then to work more because I have to pay for things that I don't need. It works wonderful for me. Knowledge is power and freedom. They can steal your truck, they can steal your money, they can scam you in thousand ways... What they cannot do to you is to take the knowledge away from you. They need you to be dumb. -
+1 on the Nexus 7. Absolutely the best buy for the money right now.
moosc Thanks this. -
Save your money and get a RM 720 instead. CoPilot is garbage!

I've used Co-Pilot for two years. Perfect no, garbage hell no. Maybe t was your PC?

At this point
I wouldn't even look at anything less than
A Quad Core 1.4ghz or better.
2 gigs Ram
16 gig Memory/Storage -
as long as the operating system is 2.1. (which hasn't been around couple of years now) you'll be just fine with whatever you buy these days.
i use it on a samsung unactivated sprint note 2. and a asus 10 inch tablet. i also have the hand unit pcmiler which is the same company.
