Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my intermittent tail lights on my 2011 Kenworth T800???? It has been going on for a couple weeks now, brake lights and signals work perfectly. Sometimes they work but most times not. Spent several hours tracing and checking wires and came up with nothing. Appreciate any ideas you my have.

I would run a new wire from the firewall to the taillights.
If the problem is gone, you have either a wireharness that is rubbing somewhere or a broken wire.
If you don't find a harness with damage,i would let the new wire become the longterm solution.

Thanks. I was kinda holding that as a last resort, but if it comes to it I'll do it. Thought they're might be a harness plug faulty or something else. These new trucks are so complex it makes my head spin!

The black ground is running lights. Blinkers and brakes work without the black one.

So brake lights and signals always work? Or not always?

Yes blinkers and brake lights work perfectly all the time. The tail lights just come and go, when they do work they work well. Just not getting any power from up the harness when it's not.

Does this also effect the rear plate light?
