I'm similar to OP - 30 years in IT and hate getting up in the morning now. I would jump for a paid CDL class through one of the carriers but have to stay in the area until the divorce is closer to finalized. So I'm currently looking to do CDL weekend classes starting in May and hopefully make the swap in August.

Jewell is about the smallest town in America. Lol. It has a post office, body shop, restaurant and grain elevator. The body shop there does all my family's auto work.
