I'm going up to Canada for the first time in years and I'd like to take my e cig with me. Anybody else do it recently? Bad idea? Any help would be welcome.

Only from my point of view, I cannot see a problem. When I used to cross into Canada, years ago, I took along several packs of Marlboro's, kept them in plain sight on the dash. You'd be surprised how many times the customs guys would ask for one cig. I'd throw the pack at them. Funny how I was able to enter and not have to park for any searches!
But today? I just cannot see why that would be a problem. Take some Marlboro's with you!Longbow Thanks this. -
They sell Ecigs in canada, and have many ecig cafe's. I was at the Canada/Maine border crossing about 8 times one week last year while fishing with friends. They never asked.Longbow Thanks this. -
If it's obviously for your personal use there is no problem. If you have boxes of them...problem.

e-cigs, if I recall the laws right, aren't really the issue. It's the nicotine that goes inside that they don't like.
But, if it's for personal use then you shouldn't have an issue.Longbow Thanks this. -
The laws are muddled on this one and you may lose them at the border.

i used one for a while and theres no issues, friends of mine bring them back and forth with no problems either. you can buy alot of the same stuff up here. the vapor is just not as mainstream as in the usa. when you get to the booth their not intrested in your vapour they want to know if you have guns drugs cartons of smokes liquor or cash over $10,000. the course of if they dont ask dont tell is what your best action is here and they have never once asked about vapour. if i picked up duty free and they dont ask then theres no need to mention, speak when spoken to and nothing more then what they have asked you.

I don't see the border having a problem with it if you are traveling with small personal quantities of e-juice.

Be careful coming back stateside. Offering the border officer anything can be construed as a bribe.
