Maybe tomorrow I'll go to a truck stop and record a podcast conversation with a driver willing to talk...I know those are in short supply.

I really enjoyed being a Tanker Yanker. Did it OTR for 2 years with transport Service before they sold out to KAG. Most people seem to think we are crazy, but after hauling cars...yeah they may be right...

Whatever you enjoy. I wish you well.
I want my own truck in the end, it's the only reason to do one of these. It is not a get rich quick method.
Im done dealing with mega carriers too. Yes they have freight, and can keep you rolling, but you are a face in a crowd of thousands. I can see where the naysayers are coming from. I used to be among those at the gates giving warning to the new crop to run away. When I was with CRE, I never met my dispatcher face to face the whole time I was there. And if you wanted to , there are armed security and bulletproof glass between you and them. I felt odd seeing that at a terminal. I swear one guard acted like he was Robocop pacing everywhere expressionless and scanning the area by turning his head.

I have met my dispatcher every time I have been at the yard. I have their cell, and email. They know who I am on sight and who I am over the phone. The company is large enough to have contracted freight, with some 250-300 trucks, small enough to give a rip about drivers needs. Just saying I like it here.

Very cool. I have worked at small companies (I currently am the only truck and driver at my company), as well as Mega carriers. This stage in my life I am looking for stability. Drive safe out there, if we cross paths I will buy you a cup of Coffee.

Waiting at my first stop of 4 to unload in Denver today. Very light load. Extra $ for the stops. Then I reload some beer at coors in golden, co. That runs to New Orleans for Monday, I'll be running off my recap by Saturday. Even though I sat all day Sunday to unload in Alabama, I still will have near 3k miles for this week.
getting my first lp settlement tomorrow. It combined 2 loads from my first abbreviated week, but I still paid 2 weeks of fixed cost. I'm pretty happy with what I cleared , considering the advances I took out the first 2 weeks.
Loaded and empty miles I ran just over 4700 miles.
I will get $1077 deposited tomorrow. Next week should hang around the same, profit wise , since it will be only 1 week of deductions coming out.
Due home in a week , let's hope they keep the promise to get me close!
Drive safe, have a nice day. Speak in a week

    Stile and hal380 Thank this.

Finished with my last unload. I'm flipping tired, but because I'm fat and hungry , I'm going to walk to get my only hot meal I allow myself. I'm parked at the last unload spot because I'm out of my 14 for the day. I have tended to walk areas I'm in as a routine to both accomplish a goal (dinner) and make believe I'm being healthy. The walk back makes it so I don't stuff myself , I want a pleasant return, rather than misery in motion from over eating.
    Well time to pass out.
