And they will continue to rob the little guy over and over. Until people learn it's just not worth the risk to work with them. They even got him.
Story begins at the 29 minute 44 second mark in the video.

Ok it sucks for him he lost $300 on that but,,, if you're gonna work with brokers you gotta communicate with them when there's a problem. He failed to communicate a problem with the broker.
For anybody that didn't watch the video the driver arrived at the rate con address to make a delivery for BMW and was told by the warehouse he was at the wrong place. The people at this wrong address told him the right place to go and so he goes there and makes his delivery but it ended up being an hour late because of that. So he never calls TQL to let them know about their oversight. He just makes the delivery, goes on his way and assumes everything is good. And I'm guessing a few weeks later gets hit with a $300 late charge from TQL.
I'm not trying to carry TQL's water here but this driver should have called and talked them about that in the moment. He gave some lame excuse to the lady at TQL "have you ever tried to contact you people at 7am?" which is silly. They have 24 hour operations. Thankfully I haven't seen a TQL rate con in a couple of years or more now, nor any other rate con for that matter. But I do know they always put the extension number on it for the load you booked so when you call their main number you can cut thru the crap and connect with who you need to. And even if they're not in the office yet somebody will make notes of it.
I bet if he had talked with them about it when it happened the late fee never would have happened. But we'll never know I guess.Siinman, gekko1323, xsetra and 1 other person Thank this. -

But, WTF is it so hard that a driver, OO, whatever you are, that you don't call shipper and receiver before just showing up?
Make those calls as soon as you get a rate con, before anything else happens. It blows my mind so many leave this to chance.
Yeah, people screw up. Wrong address, wrong contact, wrong PU #'s, wrong whatever. Let's figure that out RFN, before I start the truck.gekko1323, rollin coal, xsetra and 1 other person Thank this. -
$300 is excessive no matter what, for 1 hour? It was over a quarter of the total load payment

Well he paid some "stupid tax" on that one and guess what... Instead of learning a lesson he made excuses and whined about it on a YouTube video. Wouldn't be surprised to see another video about something similarly avoidable in the future. The lessons are this: When problems happen contact your broker asap. And, don't work with TQL.
Besides that it was an automotive manufacturer $300 is nothing. When a line goes down people can be on the hook for tens of thousands. He's fortunate.Siinman, Big Road Skateboard and gekko1323 Thank this.
