I live in a neighborhood where I could not bring my rig to my house. How and where do you find places to park your truck when you go home ? Are there places that operate parking lots for local truck drivers in their area to park their truck while they go home
    thx

If there is a truck stop near where you live, I would park there. Some areas do have parking for trucks that charge about $10/day. You will need to check around. Another option might be to see if you could park at one of the self storage facilities.

No ######. Today's truckstops have limited parking as it is. Very little hacks me off more than trying to find a parking spot with my hours running out and finding a bunch of the local yahoos tieing them up with drop trailers and such.

You guys know your local area better than we do. Find yourself an off-site park spot to roost in your off-time. Leave the truckstop spots for those travelling thru who need them rather than forcing a tired trucker back out to take his chances.

This is a growing problem with today's smaller truckstops. The Pilot at Meridian MS comes to mind, where several carriers are using it for a drop yard. Maybe we need to go "old school". Ever come back after a few days to find your rig sitting on it's rims... or realize what a roll of toilet paper in the fuel tank can do?

Most truck stops aren't going to let you leave your truck there. Also most companies aren't going to let you leave your truck at a truckstop. I'm scared to get out and go take a shower for 10 minutes! Look around your town for where others are parking their trucks. Find a boat/rv storage place. You can talk to some store managers and see if you can get permission, but make sure you have it in writing! There are also designated truck parking lots and they usually charge anywhere from $50-100 a month to park. They will be your best bet because they are usually secured areas and your company is going to want that. Most companies are also going to want an address and or info as to where you are going to park their truck during hometime so it wouldn't hurt to start looking now. Good luck man!
