    Howdy All,

The thread title says it all, looking for usable information and approximate costs to have these mods done should I decide to go that route. Thanks for any information you can share.

Probably not. I hear some with echo and such and do not respond. If they do not have the courtesy to be clear, why bother.

SHO-TYME and Big Duker Thank this.

Ditto! If there is ever so slight a bit of echo a radio can sound good. Like 1 or less on a 10 scale. And not always then. I won't listen or respond to the " gabbers" who blare out this noise. And signal beep is another annoying feature many pay for. Going to land on the Moon OK. Otherwise just try and get your rig to sound like you are talking to me normally a few feet away.

    SHO-TYME and Roadmedic Thank this.

What radio? I like talk back. Added it myself with a resistor from the pa jack to the speaker jack. Cost: 99 cents.

Echo is nice if used correctly. Gives your audio that concert hall sound. The above posters have probably talked to hundreds with echo but never knew it was there. As far as cost the last time I messed with one it w as 80 dollars installed.

If you say so. Currently on the band it is shocking to hear a good clean sounding radio. Maybe you never heard echo used correctly? Or maybe that great clean crystal clear radio was using it correctly and you didn't notice.

My father works in Radio, I have heard much more. I do not like it and if I hear it, I do not respond even if I know exactly what they want.

I have told them to turn off the echo if they want a response even.

Heard one calling for help, said if you want it turn off the echo. That was years ago.

Now, I just turn it off.
