Talk me out of an iPhone

I'd love to but I can't. I absolutely LOVE my iphone. It has come in handy more times than I can' say. I have a 3G, and in feb. when I'm available for an upgrade I have every intention of getting the 3GS.

 

I love my iPhone....its more than a phone..its a hand held computer with phone capabilities...

 

Only bad thing I've heard is that you can't tether an iphone to work as a modem for your laptop. That was some time ago, it may have changed by now.

 

you can tether it if you jailbreak it and use PDA net. Or you can just use the sim card out of it in an unlocked air card, that's what I do (no jailbreak req.).

I pay About $125 per month for an iphone and one other phone on the same account. 500 min/month, unlimited data on the iphone and unlimited texting. Free mobile to mobile and rollover mins included. I think the data plan alone of the iphone is either $20 or $25/month.

 

I just went ahead and jaibroke my phone and tether it to my laptop...Viola, I'm online

 

Cheapest plan you can get is 450 minutes which is $40/mo. Unlimited data is mandatory and is $30/mo. Texting is $5/200 $15/1500 $20/unlimited I believe. So the cheapest plan you can get would be $70/mo. Unlimited everything is $150/mo. Texts are $0.20 if you don't have a texting plan.

I got my husband one for Christmas but because he's the "techie" in our marriage I decided to tell him and let him pick out what he wanted. He was THRILLED. I let him get it early and he's been happier with it every day.

He said other than when I said "yes" to his proposal this is the best gift he's ever gotten.

 

There's only one bad thing about my Iphone: AT&T! They drop more calls than any cell provider. Hopefully when their contract with Apple runs out, a decent carrier will pickup the Iphone contract. other than that i Love the Iphone
