Hi everybody
even if we had numerous and elaborate discussions about TNT we have only partially scratched the surface of the Group. We see here in that thread only the tip of the iceberg For the complete story the essential work is the book I have written with my Australian partner, Darren Hingston.
The Framework of the book is built around the non-conventional mindset of TNT leaders fed by the opportunism, the gambling spirit, a kind of aggresssiveness, innovative ideas and a global vision of transport.
Even if 134 pages seems modest to cover a subject like this, the book includes the background of the founders, operations and their evolution, technical advances, the strategy of the Group, the management and people from truck drivers to top executives. This is possible because the text is very dense and the 14 diagrams, organizational charts and timelines are highly informative and save a lot of words.
As the book relates the history of a group of partially integrated carriers, the story is at variable geometry contrary to the traditional linear history. It's one of the reasons why the book is so appealing. The reading of this book leads to the discovery of different pieces of a very complicated puzzle which emerges along the way.
