Sometimes you got work at being famous
You know like whipping a Willie Shaw driver in front of God and everybodypete781693, wore out, Bean Jr. and 2 others Thank this. -
If one of my guys came in and wanted a fake two stick setup and a dummy second exhaust stack I'd probably put him on medical leave so he could get his head on straight.
It' s amazing what some people would rather have than money.
EDIT...I'm just going to go ahead and say it....You guys that have the real tall shifter and drive with your seat lowered all the way and one hand clear up there on that shifter knob look ridiculous. Okay? You really do. You look like you should be using the other hand to reach for a banana.
Okay, I'll give myself an infraction and ban myself for a couple of days.Last edited: May 7, 2022

I can only give you my personal opinion and since this is basically a transmission type thread.. Me personally I learned to drive on twin sticks.. the 1st truck I bought I got a better deal on it because it had twin sticks in it and nobody was real interested in buying a new truck at that time with twin sticks.. The truck Iam driving now has a 15 speed in it.. do I like it ? Yes..especially when I'am trying to keep a low profile on the 2 lanes
Do I miss having the twin sticks ?
Sometimes.. in certain areas and certain conditions.. but that is just my personal opinion
As to my explanation to your question in general... sometimes I think some drivers have to relive their Highschool years .. you know.. Your not cool if you don't have this or that !! And I think social media is a big contributing factor now days.. and when it come to trucks the chrome shops are as guilty as anyone.. I try my very best to not be a part of their customer base.. once in a while Iam forced to do business with them and I get mad when I have to
I'll be the 1st to admitt sometimes I won't give a truck a second glance if it doesn't have certain things that appeal to me and I know it's narrow minded on my part.. but most the time it's about the functionality reasons ..
I feel I work to hard enough for the money I generate not to waste it on things to make people think I'am cool
I try my best to take pride in my ride but I take more pride in being able to have money to deposit in my bank accounts...
There's a group of guys in the area I used to live I know a couple of them that are always posting 20 and 30 min Y-tube videos of how they go trucking and how flashy their trucks & trailers are.. I've seen them in action before and personally if they concentrated on hauling as much as they do fliming .. they would have alot of miles in .. .. but it must be working for them cause they have a trailer manufacturer sponsor.. and they seem to have loads to haul I guess. And there's no doubt about it they have nice trucks & trailers
I think I gave you more of a opinion than a answerbigguns, Diesel Dave, pete781693 and 4 others Thank this. -
