i know the hole thing and 250 per but ive been noticeing there are stopers in some trailers and some have diff hole patterns so my question is the 6th hole rule is it from front or from the stopper and is it still 6th hole for trailers with dif patterns

That's why I didn't trust "if your weight is X, put tandems in Y hole." Weigh it, then slide it if necessary.
No cop or DOT enforcer is going to listen to you say "but the company said put it in the X hole" and then say "OK driver, my mistake, have a nice day."

What is the 6th hole rule?

Personally I like the tandems at around the 10th hole, if I can maintain the bridge law. CA is out for that.

    I count the holes.

Different trailers have different stoppers. But I just count holes.

I think your co. is looking for 40 feet so ~
Get a tape measure , hook it to the back of a trailer and mark 10 feet.

Adjust till center of rear axle lines up with your mark .
See where pins are at , on trl with holes close together it mite be 6 , with holes further apart it might be four.
