Hi MarcB,I would say the job market for tank drivers is as plentiful as van and reefer. If you're a good safe driver after 6 months and keep your mvr clean you may be able to land a local tanker job.I haul asphalt and had zero exp in tanks.A driver at the company trained me for almost 2 weeks. There are tank companies that hire drivers that no nothing about hauling liquid. There main concern is do you have the driving exp and is your mvr clean enough for their insurance company.Right now companies are cutting corners on their hireing practice because they're desparate for drivers.

OTR is not mandatory to land a job in the oilfield. And the lack of experience is merely a bump just take it slow and safe and it will all come back.

I don't see why not... The biggest fuel hauler in my area hires drivers straight out of school!

theres a ton of companies that would rather you were not trained so they could train you their way. Just look and ask around. No reason to go OTR

A lot of tanker companies will hire with 6 mos experience. Even if they say they wan't more experience, apply anyway. In person, if you can.

What up phoenix, WHERE do you wanna be...you can write your own ticket man...I left Tucson and did North Dakota for the winter..Fell in LOVE with it bro...The jobs, the place, been in the desert too long man!! I planned to permanently move there and came back...But now, I see all the same crap goin on in TX NM Colorady and everywhere else..Even Ohio is doing some crap..

Pick your place first, then pick the housing..In a truck, or do you want a bad-### mancamp like what Target Logistics has..Find your place...Then go by equipment and maintenence, find the good stuff, then bother em to no end, you'll get hired up

Then your with me, getting picky, looking for the stupid top wage..500 a day or somethin

If you need immediate, go to Central Transport on 59th ave, ask for Cole, Tell them 856-MIKE sent you and you want a line haul job...Take home apprx 800 a week, good for Phoenix

Im with them in Tucson till I can sell my house and move to oilfield
    MoneyCat Thanks this.
