The real issue I have is with the roads in Southern California. The right lane is so beat up that I have to run in the next lane. Either that or I have to haul around several tons of ballast.

Its probably not wise to post about playing with a cell phone in a commercial vehicle mounted or not.

They're no laws about having a cell phone in a big truck as long as you not using while driving. Like wise with any electronic devices, dash cams, computers. electronic logs, calculators , tablets, laptops, I-pods and what ever else makes your but cheeks sizzle.
It's actually you who are out of line and are really stepping on the toes of many. I know your not saying I'm in violation, but I know where your going with this.

You can use a phone as long as it's hands free.

I was actually giving you some friendly advice. Don't have a wreck with your phone running in video mode. The lawyers will have a field day. It's naive to think otherwise. Distracted driving is the new hot button issue and is about to begin getting the same attention drunk driving got in the 80's.

Ya I know you were going to bust out with something, but since you insist ,they would never know about the footage unless I told them. That's also an added plus by using the cell phone to record because nobody would ever expect it.

And on the contrary it might save your ###, as most people are going to lie wen it comes time to paying up to accountability. It's not against the law to record while your driving, people do it all the time. The cops do it ,the wide spread QualCom is recording data while your going down the road, with electronic logs, and such. Now with the mobile eye companies are putting them in they're trucks all time.

    #### they even have the reverse record setting recording inside the cab, which seems illegal to me.
