Well I was gonna post last night but thing's got crazy around here. I was standing outside last night waiting on my finace to get home from the store enjoying some cool air and went into jumped out of my skin after I heard two really loud blast's from the pressure off the well then followed by a fire ball atleast 100 feet in diameter shot up in the sky over the tree's and lit up everything then I went into panic mode. Rocked the house, woke the kid's, my two cat's went ape ####, neighbor's come running out. Police dept. got there in a hurry. Now there's a controlled burn off that's been constantly burning sense with a loud roar. By the time everything settled I was wore slap out from nerves being on end last night.

Still researching companies. Waskom is a bit of a drive to and from every day but I figure if I can land one of those companies out around the Minden area then I might consider relocating to the other side of town to be closer. I have the FMCSR and Haz-Mat hand book's along with the Louisiana CDL manual so I have plenty to study. Used to have a EPA chemical training card but it's expired and that's from a company I worked for that sprayed herbicide from a helicopter and worked on the back of a combination mix tank truck that had a helipad built on top.

As far as job's in the patch, ohhhh the choices. Got my 2nd W-2 from Prime it look's much better than the one from Marten so this may be more promising than I thought. Thank's everyone for your information. Also if I decide not to get the TWIC card because of not being able to pick it up is it possible of getting a refund? Not sure if anyone can answer that one but like they say, the dumbest question you can ask is the one you don't ask.

Don't think the TWIC fee is refundable, seems like I saw a sign at the place I went to for mine that stated that.

Wouldn't think it would be refundable anyway. They did their job & ran your fingerprints & info. Doesn't matter if you choose not to go down & get it or if for some reason they say you don't qualify, they did their part.

First, good luck in your new endeavor.

Dude, you really need to look at yourself. When you started at Prime you were whining about the "rules" we drive by here. Now, you're whining about what you have to do to get your TWIC card - just go there and get it. Like I said, good luck, but you really need to think about why you need the world to cater to you... because it doesn't work that way.

There probably isn't a time limit. They will probably hold it for a year. The closest port to me was 4 hours away. I signed up for mine while on vacation in Florida 650 miles away. It gave me an excuse to go back to Florida for a long weekend. Make lemonade out of those lemons.

They will hold the TWIC card until it expires. Mine sat for 18 months before I went to pick it up.

When I got into tanker work I only had OTR experience too. What I did was look up all the companies I wanted to get hired with and I would send them
my resume through the mail on my hometime. The company who hired me wanted experienced tanker drivers and more experience then I had. They got in situation where they needed a driver right away and they had my resume on file and they gave me a call. I find the more doors you knock on the better your chances are. It really depends on the situation Ive seen our truck boss hire drivers with less experience then needed and also wait for turn key drivers. Meaning all you got do is put the driver in the seat and turn the key and he is good to go.

OK guy's. Been down sick but got my tax's handled up and I'm getting a return back. No pay in. Woot Woot! Somehow I think my preparer screwed up but if so it's not my problem that I'm getting aover $1,100 back. So everything is in line, just waiting on my check to get here and some time within the next couple of week's my daughter will be due. Can't wait. Still having trouble with TSA and the TWIC card. They said they sent me a letter stating what they needed for a minor little issue that just need's clearing up but it's been at least two week's sense I talked with them and I still haven't received the letter in the mail.

Was on my way to Wally World this evening and stubbled upon a salt water/oil patch company about 4-5 miles from my house so when I am fully better and over this flu crap I'm gonna stop in and talk with them. Also talked with my finace's friend and got some helpful info from him so we'll see how she goes.

You're a perfect example on what I've been saying all along. You never know when they might need a driver and you might just walk into a great job. You've got to do things differently than the other hundreds of school graduates so use all the tools. I know if I was starting over I'd try everything that was available just so I wouldn't have the "what if's".

OK, it's been 3 week's. Still haven't received my information from TSA. I'm starting to get annoyed with these people. Will be back on the phone with them tomorrow. I know the TWIC card probably won't be of any use in the oilfield but figure sense Prime deducted the fund's from my pay without my consent to get it I may as well get it and keep from money going wasted. Look's like that might be what's gonna happen though because I'm getting really tired of getting the run around.

Possibly looking into H&P at their Tyler, TX. office and see what they have to offer. From what I've seen on the net and first hand, I'm pretty impressed with what I see but don't know what they have to offer as far a benifits and such.
