Check out the forums on pumpkin driver dot com. Tanking with Schneider is not a very glorious job. The pay is average at best, the miles are minimal (typical with chemical tank operation), summertime work in the south in full rubber suits is miserable and sometimes deadly, from what I can gather, additional pay for unloading, waiting, washing, etc is minimal at best. very few "long hauls", no APU's and you'll sit a lot, winter and summer, many Schneider drivers complain of poorly maintained trailers and with the new rules in place, this could put many tanker drivers in a difficult position work and maybe get fined or request repairs and don't work as you wait ... virtually one or more times each week. If I were a betting man, I'd say Schneider will be out of the tanker business by end of 2012 (or otherwise should be). Good luck. Keep us posted. Find some food-grade tank operation somewhere and you'll be glad you did.
