You guessed rite! IRT only pays mileage. No stops. Seems like a rough gig for the guys on the east side . Don't hear much from the west coast guys. Some guys like it and make the best of it. Good looking trucks!

I haul water in a tri-axle straight truck, 4700gal/112 barrel steel tank. 17$ per hour + overtime over 40. we work 12 hour shifts anywhere from 5 to 7 days a week. It's the easiest job in the world. We sit on well locations for hours on end for delays, no speeding or stupid driving because there's ALWAYS somebody watching you. Some days we'll work on site shutteling water from one frac tank to another and other days we may run 500 miles. I haul fresh water, recycled water and flowback. I'm also home every night. My boss likes to have some experience but you dont need a whole lot.

Standards : A creative way to pay a driver to motivate faster.
EG: Base rate $20.00 hr and I'll allow 15 mins for pre trip so you get 25% of $20.00 or $5.00.
EG: Noramlly takes 1 hr to load and sample cryogenic product. I'll pay you $20.00 no matter how long it takes.....
Get this?pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
Why is it, the only people NOT making money on fuel, are the ones that actually deliver it??

I work for an "in-house" private fleet hauling our products between plants and the farm. All food grade (Soy, Various broths and soups). I work 6PM-6AM on a 3on-4off/4on-3off and repeat rotation.
I get paid hourly with great bennies and a whole lotta little perks and plenty OT if ya want it, sometimes I come in on my off days to drive the Farm truck to the farm and back or scoot around and hostle trailers. I do not touch anything tanker wise. Other than driving, I hand the BOL to the guy/gal unloading me and thats it.
The magic of it is, sometimes I come into work and do pretty much nothing. It's not uncommon to get to the plant and wait 9 hrs before they even hook a hose up because all the tanks in the plant are full and they have no-where to put your product.
We use Penske for our trucks, I keep harassing my boss to lease at least a little 48' sleeper bunk so I can sleep laying down instead of in the sitting position. Well, thats my gig. Figured I would contribute to the discussion.pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
as far as JB pulling liquid hydrogen, my immediate thought is compare to what goes on in the fuel hauling world.
As I write today, we are fortunate enough to have management in place that will not allow this. ( At the big 3 ) However ! My neighbor makes a very bad catalyst that must be transported in a double redundant reefer trailer. The product MUST be kept cool at any cost....and has ALWAYS been hauled by their pvt. fleet..... until lately..... where I've seen a contractor pulling their trailers....not good. Safety for profit never is...
dont know anything about hydrogen, and which makes a bigger boom!,
Consider this: Does NASA use gasoline or hydrogen to lift millions of pounds into space? And here's one from the useless information files: Last known figure to lift a pound of anything into orbit was $10,000. That's man, machine and the fuel he burns to git 'er done. Ah ya c'mon.....pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
my opinions-does not apply in every casecisco Thanks this.
