Glad you came here and asked around atleast....
I'm like some of the other guys, I never get out of my truck without the brakes engaged. -
this trainer worries me alot.
I think if this situation happened to me, I would go to someone higher than him, and nicely ask about telling new tanker yankers not to set the brakes. I wonder if they know he is training like this.
never, ever get out of the truck without brakes set. we do not need another story about a runaway truck. ( but you know this already) -
A BALANCE BEAM? Where?![/QUOTE]
You mean you ain't seen a scale with the balance beam in the scale house? C&H in Crockett, CA has a real old one propped up with a block of wood because its about ready to fall over. Some of the fertilizer plants out here still have them. Many of the feedlots I unload at still have them. Some places have converted to a digital readout but still use the same old scale. -
When I worked at Aviation Fuels in '84 I mostly hauled JetA. Avgas would leave trash in the tank. When I loaded at Belcher in Port Canaveral they would wash me out with kerosine before loading with JetA. That was the only place that inspected us. They would do a visual.
Only place I toploaded!
Just think if you had trash in the fuel line in an airliner? Or tampered with? -
Here's one that didn't set their brakes.
