I'm Having the same problem all you can do is go to your DBL's boss. Company policy says it must go through your DBL.

this may seem like an unreasonable question so some, but, here goes. looking to hopefully hire on with sni for tankers. never crossed my mind about the face mask stuff i have just read about on this post..... ie keeping a clean shave! lol. ive got a mustache and fairly long goatee, bald head that ive had for YEARS......does this ALL have to be shaved off??? this just never has crossed my mind, and i know this really shouldnt be a deal breaker if i wanna make tanker money, but must admit, its got me a lil curious!! as for being a "newbie", im not too concerned about tankers. been running big wreckers for years, looking for a career change, and i know i have the right head on my shoulders to handle tankers. just more skeered of a new "baby face" lmao

The mustache and goatee should not be an issue as long as the respirator will seal around it. You can probably grow the Goatee back after you get respirator fitted with the understanding that yuou may get to a guardhouse and they will make you shave it off prior to entering the plant.

The goatee will be a pain in the butt at the chemical plants. You never know if the gate person is going to have a hissy fit and make you shave it on the spot. Might be better to change up the look, for a little while.

Just no way around it at some locations. The reason is not safety; it was to prevent the plant's union form using the bearded truckers as a wedge to negotiate facial hair back in...

I had an owner op who looked like Jerry Garcia w/ a ZZ Top beard who shaved for one plant in SE Ohio. He told me that his 18 yr old son never saw his chin until then. Took him a long time to grow it all back!
