In a year you would be at .41 and that is all miles loaded or not. I have talked with chemical drivers from many companies, we all make about the same weekly we just get there differently.
I literally just finished a deadhead from Chicago to New Orleans that paid the same rate, at Superior that would have been a cheaper cpm.

Finally, as the boss of the bulk side said there is a difference between cpm and what a w 2 says at the end of the year. Meaning there are other ways. I make about a grand a week, and I am betting that you do to. Many of the drivers here are bit ticked off about that bonus though.
I am getting tired of hearing people try an explain it away, well you only get this much, if you do this is doesn't count...etc. It's still 7500 you didn't have before. I'll take it no matter how it's paid.

    Twicebit Thanks this.

Glad I don't have to worry about bonuses or any of that garbage or split pay for loaded/empty anymore to make a very good check.

Where are you at now? Glad to hear you are getting back on your feet. I wondered to myself back when you went to Carry saying it was less money but no Union BS. I have seen very few people who are happy for less money very long.

I hear you. .38 CPM empty is less than .41 but .46 is more than .41. You will never run more than 50% empty though and that would be straight dedicated out and back. Schneider pay is on the low end. I have heard that you can be at .50 CPM loaded at Transport Services in 3 years. The last 4 years I have taken my logged Hub miles for the year and divided it by my gross income. Last year it was.57 per mile. I will top 30K YTD next week with 2 weeks left to mid year.

Then we almost mirror each other. Trust me when I say I have researched and talked to many companies. When I first started at Schneider I thought I would jump to a "real" tanker company. But after comparing I realized that everyone just about equals out in the end. I always say, give me a reason to leave Schneider. Haven't found one yet.

Another thing. I just happened to be unloading beside a Transport driver the other day at Valspar. Again we made the same amount of money but the way he was talking it seemed to me he was micromanaged. It even said on his, I don't know what you call it.....a driver report form I guess, that he could not show up more than thirty minutes early. Told me that his manager doesn't like it and has complained to him in the past. I thought that was crazy. Plus my truck was a lot nicer than his. Now I am not saying Transport is a bad company or anything but where is the motivation for me to jump? I get my miles, I get all the pay I am due and my boss literally never has to talk to me. As long as I don't hit anything, spill anything or show up late Schneider doesn't seem to know I exist and that's the way I like it.

Of course I can call in anytime and it feels like a small company, my boss knows my voice. I have only one boss and virtually everything that happens to me has to go through him. Works great for me. Again this is just me and what I like but I am not going to jump just because my cpm is lower. You only beat me by one penny by the way and we are getting a raise across the board this month so I may be beating you soon....lol

Lastly, if I ever did jump, Superior would be at the top of my list to call. You guys are a great company but your not my company.

It sounds like you underestimated your pay a little. 60K per year is 1200 per week.

Key word there is about. I have made over 1700 in one week. I am also not counting before taxes. When I say a grand I mean 1000 dollars gets deposited into my bank account.

You are probably right about this. We wash out at a Transport Terminal for one of our dedicated loads. I saw some paperwork they had to turn in. It was a diagram of a tractor/trailer and they had to write the tire pressure of each tire on it. Not once did I see someone gauge a tire.

I almost went to Schneider school when I started years ago. Then I read an old thread by Cyanide on another board, paid for my school and got on with Superior. Its not perfect but I like it like you do. Leave me alone and let me do my job and don't make me wear a hard hat and face shield to do a pretrip. The solo east to west coast runs are nice too. I have found my nitch.
