You are correct TheSquid. Just stay off the sidewak and you should be ok.
There are a lot of Swift trucks on the road. I have seen fellow swifties in every state I've been in!

    Hamshoe Thanks this.

Every where I go there are Swift trucks. Sitting at the TA and I counted at least ten when I came in. Last night in Conway at a small little Loves up the road there where four there. Plenty of drivers at there.

    Hamshoe Thanks this.

Great only 20 more hours left!!! I ended up with 241.25 for my final hours. AS you can see I wanted off that truck as soon as possible.

    Hamshoe Thanks this.

Yeah, I still can't believe you put up with that putz for as long as you did.

I am finally home for a few days. I tallied up my driving hours, and I only have 5.5hrs to go!

    Hamshoe Thanks this.

Yes and no Hamshoe. We were out for 3 weeks, so it was time to get home and see the family. I thought about trying to see there was some way I could forgo the last 5.5 hours of training, but have decided to just put in my time (plus a little more) and git 'er done! There is a shortage of trucks at our terminal anyway, so if I was to test out I would be sitting for a couple of weeks.
I may ask to be dropped off and test out at a terminal that has trucks available. Does anyone know which terminals have empy trucks available for rookie company drivers?

Might try Houston they got me a truck in two days. Give them all call. The only issue is you cannot upgrade there as far as your road test and so on.

    Tapeworm Thanks this.

Does Swift hire experienced truck drivers??? Everybody on here that makes a post about going to work for them always says they are waiting for their mentor. Or do they make everybody go out with a mentor?

I would not mind going out with a trainer for a while if it meant a stable job with a good company.
