Hello,
I recently purchased a 24 ft straight truck and I am looking to move freight locally. Ive filled out all paperwork for my Operating Authority. I have filed for two authorities, both common authorities and one is to move house hold goods. I recently received a letter from the FMCSA that my certificate would be issued following the compliance with the following requirements :
House goods carriers must maintain tariffs, but the tariffs are not filed with the government (49 CFR 1312);
and
Offer of Arbitration as a means of settling loss damage disputes (49 USC 14708)
I would really appreciate some help directing me to some places where I could either purchase or create my own tariff sheets and offer of arbitration;
maybe even a fill in template.
I am completely green and I am doing my best to use Google to help find resources but i'm stumped!
Tariff Sheet and Offer of Arbitration

Have you contacted any of the trade associations? That's where I'd look first.

Tarriff's are easy. You have a LB/volume(freight class)that increases per mileage steps. You have a minimum charge. You(can)have volume discounts. If an accessorial charge isn't listed,it doesn't exist.
The tarriff's must be availible to anyone who requests them.
You can't charge more(or less)than the tarriff's.
Do you mean 14706? -
Hello RockRoad74,
Please forgive my ignorance....I am new to this business in every aspect. Could you please provide me with a couple names of Trade associations you would use and I can see if possibly they could help me. I thank you for the response! -
Thank you Wichris for the information. I have an understanding what you are saying but I wouldn't know how to put in on paper in a format that was professional or legal. I was looking for something with a fill in template but not sure if such a thing exist. Lastly in regards to that number of the requirement it is (49 USC 14708).

If you're going to do it local,why are you going through the feds?(other than DOT#) Intrastate common/hhg is regulated by the state.
Go to National Motor Freight Classification. That will get the class per LB/VOLBigBadBill Thanks this. -
Call your state trucking association, OOIDA, and NASTC.

Thank you I will try that and let everyone know what I've found!!!! I appreciate your time! Thank you!
