It trickles down from the bottom to the top. The vessel is capsized.

I’m not looking to start an argument here, but something that I think is being terribly misunderstood is border security. I agree 110% that Canada needs better border security, we need to keep this garbage out of Canada as well, but it’s not up to Canada customs to dictate who enters the USA, when I cross into the USA from Canada I deal with IS Customs and Border patrol, they are the people that scrutiny enters the USA, Canada Customs has zero say, when I return to Canada it’s the opposite, US Custom’s plays no part, it’s Canada Customs that I deal with.
My point here is if Trump wants better border security he better look towards his own country’s inadequacy.

Way i look at it this is going to go one of 3 ways. 1. More of the same, your dollar wont go as far, things will be more expensive and its business as usual. 2. The economy will fully colapse and we will have a hard reset. 3. Forcing others to the table by playing hard ball will have a short term negitive impact on your dollar but a long term positive impact.

Honestly, things cant keep going as they were. Regardless of your view on politics and sides. Things were bad and getting worse. People cant afford a house. New cars cost as much or MORE then a home in many places, food was getting out of control, the government was spending money like it was going to vanish tomorrow. Taxes kept going up for wprse and worse services. Corruption in every level of government regardless of side.

Something was going to give somewhere. It only remains to be seen if this trade war is a positive or a negitive long term by our forcing this now ourselves rather then later when someone else could take advantage of the chaos. Short term its going to hurt. Im also not looking forward to getting parts for my lonestar but im hopeful long term it will be better all around.

If not? Welp ill see you all at the soup lines.

We will survive, Canada will hurt.

As the OP knows, the local talking heads are acting like we are facing a deep depression and crying about the autoworkers not being able to spend their $14k profit check at the Windsor casino.

Looks like its only the gov't owned stores in BC that were ordered to pull the products. Not sure about the private stores.

When their customers start going elsewhere to get they want, those shelves will get restocked fast.

Nothing in tariffs has any effect on the IRS.
