Our new trailer is supposed to be here sometime in the near future and its going to need a set of tarps.
I carry 4ft and 8ft drop tarps.
What does anyone with the three piece tarps think of them?
How do the skirts attach to the main part of the tarp?
Do they have a front flap? If it does is it 8ft or does it have a seperate 4ft piece like the sides?
Thanks guys

3 piece tarp imma have to google that.
SGTSmokdU Thanks this. -
I've always thought that three piece tarps refers to two end tarps with flaps and a flat tarp for the center of the load (if needed) I have worked with a set of tarps that were 8' drops, but the bottom 2' could be folded under and secured with plastic clips like the kind sometimes seen on backpacks & the like. I hated those tarps because they could not be pulled over the top of the load when untarping without getting hung up. I would end up climbing up on top of the load to get them off. They were also hella heavy.

Were you driving across Mission from 680 to 880 a week or two ago wearing a pair of white rock star sunglasses? I saw somebody there in an ex Sward truck & I want a pair of shades like that.

Negative they have 3 more trucks like mine at the Tracy yard they are local trucks. There is another 2 we run out of state. I been running steady Portland.Chowchilla..Kennewick.Corcoran this past 2 months. I also can't believe u like those white shades lol. I only like the one piece shades.

I have a 3 piece tarp system with 2 lumber tarps having 8-foot drops... the 3rd piece is a steel tarp turned 90 degrees, and it's a pain in the ###. The only benefit is the tarps don't weigh as much.

I think he is asking about tarps with extensions on them. You throw your tarp on the load and it only drop 4' then you get down on the ground and hang a 4' extension on them, making them a 8' drop tarp. I have heard guys talk about them but have not seen anyone selling them, or using them.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks

Not sure why the link came out looking like this, but it works. This will take you to an old post here on TTR, the last paragraph explains the tarps with extensions, appears to be something that you would have to order.MJ1657 Thanks this.
