My guess is unless you checked for proper torque you would not have noticed any separation until the point that it actually moved. Its a strange fenonim that keeps the tyranny in place until its too late.
Arguing about if it should have been caught is ridiculous when anyone with experiance knows the shop didn't do thier job correctly and it should have never happend to begin with.

Sad situation. Without a vibration or noise hard to know something is wrong.
How many miles are on the repair? How long was the warranty from TAT.
I never checked my transmission after replacing either the trans or clutch. First time I heard of this problem.
With the information posted seems TAT misrepresented the transmission they sold you.
Did TAT retorque the trans bolts when you had it in for the axle work. IF not, why not.
I think I will go out and check my transmission bolts now!
Good lucknikmirbre Thanks this. -
I'm pretty sure they didn't think I would ever find out about the transmission. Because to be honest there would have been no reason for me to check. The only reason why I found out that it was in-house rebuilt Was because it fell out. So many shady things happened. -
If they didn't retorque the trans bolts, why would they expect the customer to do it?
Wheels are the only bolts/nuts I have checked torque on. That I carry a Torque wrench to do after a couple hours of driving.
Never, NEVER have I checked any other repairs done in a shop. Sure I look at the repair done. I don't take a wrench to it. That's why I pay the big bucks to have it done. If I wanted to wrench on my truck. I wouldn't take it to a shop first. -
These guys are a joke. I got a yoututube video explaining how they do bs. Also check out the shorts. They will do improper combustion test and say nothing is wrong. Then have you in their shop like 3 times just throwing parts at your truck. The screwed up part is the literature in the invoice.
