Hello All...any Maverick TCD drivers out there that can answer a few questions...
1) I live in Northeastern MD close to I-95 just north of the Susquehanna River...how would my home time look with TCD?
NOTE: This is the only division I can go to as an entry level driver with Maverick. Flatbed hiring area is outside where I live. Glass/Specialized are not for beginning drivers.
2) Are there any TCD trainers in my area?
3) Life on the road with TCD @ Maverick? (Avg weekly miles, type of equip, life in general)
I have been in the aviation industry for most of my life including 8 years active duty Air Force. Really hope to enter this side of the transportation industry with Maverick. Application has been submitted and I am waiting to hear back from my recruiter on a decision from the hiring committee. If I am approved, will head to last CDL class of the year in October!!
Any answers to the above questions will be greatly appreciated and of course any advice or other info would be cool as well.
**PLEASE DO NOT TURN THIS THREAD INTO A BASHING SESSION ON MAVERICK** I HAVE ALREADY DONE PLENTY OF RESEARCH ON MULTIPLE COMPANIES AND I HAVE READ THE NEGATIVE AS WELL AS THE POSITIVE ON ALL THE OUTFITS I HAVE CHECKED OUT. ANY JOB/COMPANY IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT AND I WOULD APPRECIATE ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE RESPONSES TO THIS POST. THANKS
TCD with Maverick

I'm not sure exactly but if you go to YouTube and look up the name Dale Clay he's a driver for maverick and does daily/weekly vlogs and he answers questions about maverick for many! Check him out!

Not sure who told you that the Glass division was only for experienced drivers but I know for a fact they train new students in the Glass division if you’re in that hiring area. It may be there hiring quota is full right now for the Glass division so they are pushing people to TCD. Their Specialized division is very small and doses require experience.
The Maverick sub-forum is at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/forums/maverick.313/. You may find posts there that answer some of your questions and you will get the attention of more Maverick drivers posting over there. -
Thanks for the replies Ubu and Maurice. I have watched quite a bit of Dale's videos. He puts out great info. Just wsnted to know a bit more about the TC division at Maverick.
Ubu you may be right about glass division hiring. My recruiter did say I can always switch divisions down the road after training.
I will post my question over on the Maverick sub forum as well. Thank you both again for your comments. -
Actually just looked over there and I dud post the question there along with one about Maverick's CDL program. Hopefully someone will respond over there with further info.

Can't help.you a bit with Maverick, but I do live in Middletown, DE, GF is in Elkton. We may cross paths from time to time
-
Who do you drive for KMac? Do you mean PFG is in Elkton??
-
And no, I meant Girlfriend lives in Elkton -
Oh wow...I was way off on that one...lol. Where is Double J out of?
-
Double J is in Jackson Wisconsin. Power only company that leases to 4 different account I haul for Leonards out of Farmington NY but I am dispatched out of the California Office.
I mainly do long haul east to west to east again. Leonards has a terminal in Wilmington by the port where the ship Bananas out of.
I know Double J wants at least a year of experience, not sure about Leonards though.
Dude that owns it has a little empire up in New York that Includes a driving school, so they may hire and train.
