Anyone out there working for TCI Transportation, or have worked for them in the past? I am contemplating whether to try and sign on with them. Any information would be appreciated.

I signed on with a company called TCI based out of Phoenix. Az./California. They have all brand new equipment but they won't spend any money on drivers. They do dedicated routes to supply airplane parts for Delta to major airports.
    Not recommended.

TCI runs team drivers with a new base in Atlanta, Ga. You have to get loaded at Hartsfield International Airport (Very Fun). You will spend about 6-9 hours trying to get fully loaded, then be expected to drive your 10 hours.

If the loaded was reasonable and they had a legit pay scale then it would be a cool company. The routes are Atl to JFK, Atl to Cinn. and Minn., and Atl to Dallas and Salt Lake City. The pay is told to you as being (about $750 to goto Dallas then Salt Lake and back to Atlanta. About? WTF!

TCI runs mainly regional Southwest for their over the road fleet, they do have some team dedicated runs like the Delta runs that ATLTrucker mentions, but that's only a 10 truck dedicated and a small part of their business. They have quite a few dedicated operations for teams and solos alike that don't involve airports.

They are your typical carrier: low pay, no home time, poor cheap benefits, and don't offer raises unless you threaten to quit. Solo drivers are still driving Columbia's, I heard they are moving out of Phoenix because they can't find drivers. I'm running for MCH out of Phoenix where a couple of their inside staff went to after leaving them.

I just got hired on with TCI for a dedicated account. All local work except for a layover a month. The route covers most of Northern California and a location in Reno, NV. From what I've been told I'll be pulling a 53' reefer delivering to grocery chain and yes I have to unload via electric/manual pallet jack. No taking apart the pallet.

Pay: $0.41 per mile (PC Miler Practical Miles), $6.60 per stop (first 24 minutes of scheduled stop). If I'm delayed it goes to $3.30 for each 12 minutes after that.

New Equipment (Freightliner Cascadias) unfortunately it is a slip seat gig, but I was told they do try to keep drivers in the same truck.

Schedule is a bit crummy, anytime from midnight to 0500 will be my start time.

It seems alright for me, traditionally I'm an ag hauler and would rather be doing walking floors or something with less cities but I think the experience will be great.

Are all their routes touch freight?

For this account yes. I heard in Bakersfield one account is all drop and hook. For me it's take the pallet off and the rest is up to the store folks. Sometimes you take it to the end of the trailer and a forklift will take it off, but no handling of cases and such.
