What is the truck intended to do? In my opinion lots of the dt466 and 570 ended up in trucks that were too big. It’s pretty obvious leaving one of the rock quarry around here which internationals have them because they’re going around 30 up the long hill leaving and most everyone else is blowing their doors off.
Yes they do have cam follower issues but that’s been a problem for most manufacturers…in recent times I would say the dts are the worst but just saying…. -

Not that you maybe care and I don’t usually run as hard as some but when you’re slipping back in line it doesn’t look very good to the guys that hired you unless you’re not getting paid by the ton (we typically go by the hour) -

I looked after a fleet of fourteen internationals with the Maxxfarce DT engines.
Most were replaced with well over 10,000 hours. Never had a cam follower failure.
What vintage of Maxxfarce is it? One or two EGR coolers? Single or dual turbo?
