There are two guys I have ever met that I would even THINK about teaming with. Teaming, you have to both be on the same page on driving style or you will be split up in a week. THEN you have the personality, hygiene, radio and political/religious tests, which are even harder to pass. Basically, you have to be driving with someone that's your best friend or you both have to be so disciplined that it's a sterile environment. That's a mighty tough nut to crack.
If they wnt you to drive 120k with a stranger, you're getting screwed, blued and tatooed. they probably also don't pay you crap. You can go to a Community College and get a CDL for under $4k, all on a student loan. Then go to workk for a decent company for 38-40-45 CPM solo. You might be with a trainer for a month, which is about all you should need.
No, you're not on the hook for what your teammate does. You're just DEAD if he's a crap driver.

Only 2 people I would team with would be my dad and my really good friend that I met while doing team driving food service

eeehh, I have had to share a truck gate for 16 hours a day for while when I first got into security with all sorts of strange types. (they gravitate to the midnight shift after a while). I am way too easy going when it comes to those things, but your right, it would require my partner to have the same attitude. Thanks for all of your advice!

I would put nothing past these companies. A truck gets in an accident they are likely to clock both driver's DACs with preventable accidents. Their attitude towards truck drivers is always shoot first ask questions later.
-
Any info about Celadon specifically when it comes to DACs? I've read the horror stories, but been given absolutely glowing reviews by the drivers coming through my gate. This whole researching a company thing is tough.

I'm digging your user name

Yeah it should hide my identity well enough without being too divorced from who I am. I don't really plan on posting anything negative about my employer whoever they may end up being. But you never know.
