Yeah she should totally live with her "father", the guy that has never met her. That's a brilliant idea. I'm sick of people's opinions. I didn't ask of anyone to approve of this situation. I know my daughter and our situation and you people don't.

You seem emotional about this issue and I know #### well logic doesn't often override emotion but here goes. Why not put a 7 year old in a truck? Truck is dangerous ... gonna roll over and get the kid killed, what about cars man? Cars kill people too, What about the school bus? Should I not send my daughter to school anymore, she's got no seat belt in there ya know.

Two weeks ago a 8 month old died here when the driver of the minivan played stupid with a truck and lost. Had the baby been in the truck she would still be alive. So lets let that argument go.

FACT: Driving (any vehicle, car, truck, bus, bike, shoes) puts you in danger to a certain degree. A kid has a much bigger risk of getting killed on the way to a soccer game in moms minivan than he/she would in a truck.

    Now to the OP.

By all means bring her along if the company allows DURING SUMMER BREAK etc. and only if that's what she wants (no brainwashing or bribing attempts here). Sooner or later she may want to go to camp (among other activities) in the summer and it's your job as a parent to make sure she get's to taste a little bit of everything in life to the best of your abilities which honestly seems to be lacking. Not spend every summer in a truck because mommy wants to be with her boyfriend.

I can't even imagine what is going through your mind so that you may justify this absurd view to yourself. It makes no sense, kids need to learn, play, socialize, exercise, experience new things. None of what they need day to day can be found in a truck, summer break experience yes, not full time stuck in a rig.

The willingness to jam a kid in a truck for hours on end just to spend more time with some ####### (who should know better seeing he's a driver) is a sad testament to your parenting abilities. You are too immature to be raising a child, so is your boyfriend. Where is this kids father in all this? Honesty?

I've passed up multiple long haul jobs because I simply did not want to be away from my 4 year old daughter for weeks at a time. I am no longer with her mom and have her every second week. When I considered going long haul, my current girlfriend and I agreed it could work and we would keep the one week on one week off schedule even if I was gone. I couldn't do it, I need to be there and my daughter needs me there. I make decent money why would I go OTR to make just a few bucks more. For me OTR would have to pay 120 000$ per year for it to be worth the time lost with my daughter. And as far as bringing her along and stealing her childhood ... wouldn't do it for any amount.

Of course you didn't.. Its a good ###### thing.. there are people here with loads of experience and most assuredly those with children. People who have experienced the good and the BAD aspects of this career field.. It's SAD that there are too many parents our there who treat their children like PETS. If there was a child welfare system out there they would and should get involved in situations like this. If you want to go out and play around on the road with this self centered moron that you want to shack up with then take off! But to subject a child to this in my honest opinion is just abusive. The father even if he's never seen his daughter will almost certainly have a more stable home life to provide for his child than you will be. So think about the welfare of someone other than yourself and give the kid up to someone who may possibly learn to love them as much as you've learned not to.

no, but what does that have to do regarding the risk of death on the read relative to different types of vehicles?

I honestly don't know where your trying to go with this...

You would have to lease a truck to do what you ask.

It's a terrible idea, but I'd be lying if I said it hadn't crossed my mind when my son was first born. In the end though I decided to work local and get home every night. OTR jobs will always be there, and quite frankly, I can't think of anything more important than my own child...

Keep your kid off the truck. It's probably the best way to go...

    TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

Probably the level of risk exposure to a child that is in a vehicle moments in a day verses one that lives in one 24 hours a day.
