I was using reckless as an example. As for the leeway that you speak of, it hasn't been given to us. I have tried landstar and rr they both said NO!

Please don't feel like we're out to insult you. It's difficult to obtain inflection in a typed message compared to if we were talking in person.SheepDog Thanks this. -
What 40cal is trying to get across to you Optimus is sometimes it is not worth it to have your own authority. You can do just as well and even better with less work leased on at the right company. If you plan on working load boards for the rest of your life with your own authority I'd say you're wasting your time and would be much better off leased on with a company. So much time is involved doing other things besides driving the truck when owning one. What kind of contacts do you have to secure good paying contract freight and if plan B comes into play on that question where are you going to find the time to knock on doors and get it yourself? It's ok to think big but you have to be realistic and know what your limitations are presently.

As for finding loads, we will alternate for each other. While I'm driving she will be looking and booking the next load and vica versa. It is two of us in the same truck not 1.
I also has a friend who allow me to search and book some of his loads off I.T.S. for him from time to time, so I can get use to dealing with brokers.SheepDog Thanks this. -
I am not upset, offended, nor do I want any of you to feel any different. I appreciate all who take the time to give advice. We can and will disaggree on certain things and topics, but please do not take it personal. I'm just simply stating my opinion. That's all. -
Ok, what I am saying is this; a Lease is when a person is making payments on a truck and is automatically Contracted with the company allowing the Lease. An Independant Contractor is a person which does not owe the company they are contracted with, any payments for said truck, it is paid for. People are using the word Lease instead of Contract and that is where things get confused. If I hear the work Lease, I assume the driver is paying payments on a leased truck..
Now, that all said. I will NEVER buy a truck on a Lease program, ever! I WILL buy my truck outright, with cash. This way, I can do with the truck what I choose. Yes, running under someone elses authority has its own rules,,, Even under ones own authority, there are rules... I have no intention of running under my own authority anytime soon.
I hope that I have made myself clear, this time.. If not, feel free to clear up any mistake that I have made, I do not claim to be an expert, just have done a lot of research and talked to a lot of people. But experience is the best teacher...Last edited: Dec 7, 2011

Sorry to hear that OP... -
But its not so bad, I just have to take a small detour around Leasing St.(Contract Rd.) to get to Authority Pkwy. But the good thing is I am getting more closer each day.
