I have decided to go with a team Driver operation and I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions on who to go with for this situation.
Home time is really no big issue, im more worried about pay.
If anyone who currently runs teams let me in id love to know how it works.
Do you just split paychecks? Are there two separate pay scales for a driver with more experience than one with out?
Just little stuff I really like to know...
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated
Thanks

most bigger companies pay on exp. each driver get half miles the truck runs
(my pay is .40cpm if we run 6000miles i get payed for 3000 my wife with less exp. pay is .39cpm she get payed for 3000miles it dont matter who dose the driven )
if you dont have co drive most will pair you up (be careful) i would not do this my self (find your own co driver if you can)
but the biggest thing most people have trouble sleeping that good riding truck dont sleep good when its moving
for what its worth i dont understand why someone would run team if the money goes to two house holes you might make a LITTLE more but youll be gone all the time
hope this helps
good luck -
Companies such as Land Span and DOT Lines are team oriented outfits. The key to making money as a team is turning high miles. This means 1000 miles per day (or more).
Compensation is normally a 50/50 split between the 2 drivers. In my case I earn 1/2 cpm more than my co-driver (my spouse). I have seniority and am considered the lead driver. We split .48 cpm but there are other companies that offer more.
If you look around there are a couple of companies that specialize in military, munitions, radioactive, and hazmat that will pay more per mile as well.
