Good to hear you guys are running good, and enjoying your work so far. I started driving last sat after orientation, and have been kept pretty busy. I need to get a reset, have only been picking up a few hrs one day, good hours another, then a couple hrs the next. Got home yesterday morning enroute, and head out to finish and make delivery tonite. Requested a load headed back here with some time to get a reset, so we'll see. Have got to visit Ellenwood term in Atl area, and in and out of the term at Markham, Ill. So far so good, Hope to meet you guys sometime!

Hope to meet you soon too. We are getting ready to head back out this morning and hoping we can beat the snow storm out of here.

I continue to be so freaking impressed with this company. I think the most telling thing is the interaction I have had with the other departments at USX. From the mechanics at the shop in Tunnel Hill (it seems I amuse them) to the guys in breakdown and safety to the guards at the gates.....every conversation I have had (with the one exception of the weekend FM who was losing his mind and it was funny as hell) has been with people who care and have a smile in their voice. I am sure this will not always be the case but it is clear that the culture of this company is being managed properly. I have owned three companies and I have been an executive at a couple of large companies. This culture does not happen by accident.

Well, the perils of a brand new truck that was assembled in Mexico. We have broken down again in Nebraska. The Freighliner dealer cannot get the truck in until Monday so Breakdown put us up in the hotel. The same one we stayed at 2 weeks ago in North Platte. We are just going to relax for the weekend. Our fleet manager wants us in another truck but we just ran out of time on Friday before everyone who needs to be involved was gone for the weekend. I suspect we will wait for the truck to be "fixed" and get a load to Texas where he has a new truck for us. Of course, nothing ever goes according to plan so who really knows what will happen. Just having a nice little vacation with my amazing wife.

sounds like you're enjoying it there. I had a lot of interest in USX till I got the form saying I'm willing to team for 6 months. That was a deal breaker for me.

Everyone signs that but it is based on where you live. CA and FL you will have to team. A few other places too but mostly you do not need to. i know lots of solo drivers who never team

It is Monday evening. Nebraska Truck Center is a joke. The technician working on our truck is actually a great guy but their customer service is non-existent. The woman who answers the phone would have no personality if they took away "surly". The head of the service never knows what is happening and will not call me, he just wants me to call every couple of hours. So after my fourth call today he told me the truck will be done in about an hour. I ask him if we should check out of the hotel..."are you sure" and he says "yep, it will be done" So when we get there I am told that they are still calibrating and it will be a bit longer. After waiting for almost an hour Ithe tech finally comes to tell me that the truck will not be done today. They have been trying to download software from Cummins (so the calibration had never really been started) Cummins is going to Fedex the software and it is supposed to arrive by 10:00 AM tomorrow and the truck is supposed to be done by noon. We will see. I just want to work.

So just because they ask you to sign that, it doesn't mean you will have to? I am in Myrtle Beach, SC and she told me on the phone that I would have to sign that and it just turned me off a bit. I'd go with them today if I didn't have to team. It's a shame because I have no ties to home and could run about as long as they want. And I am easy going and don't deamand anything and never make waves so I would be an easy employee for them but I just can't do the team thing. I was hoping for Southeast regional job sooner or later.

I am not sure about SC but the recruiter should be able to tell you. I will ask around for you.

For Wulf, I would be shocked if you had to team since you live in GA and our main terminal is in Tunnel Hill.

God, that would be great. I have a place to move to to get a job with another company but it will cause great turmoil in my life. The address is at aa ex girl friends house who is ok with it but will cause some problems down the road. Sadly though I might be running out of time. I need to get on the road as soon as possible. Running out of time and money quick so I might have to pull the trigger soon on something. Thank you for your help though. I'll make another call to the recruiter today and see what the odds are on going team even if I sign the paper. I thought it meant it was a definate deal when you sign that. Thank you again.
