So we had a bit of drama this week. We were at the 49er truck stop in Sacramento walking across the street to eat at the Black Bear Diner and Anne started feeling pretty bad, Turns out she had been feeling kinda icky most of the day but had not told me. By the time we went to bed we were starting to get concerned it was appendicitis. She was having abdominal pain and nausia but no fever. We had two deliveries the next morning and then got a load assignment to pick up a reefer load in Yuma AZ heading to North Carolina. Anne said she was feling better so we headed out. I desperately needed sleep so she took over with the plan to stop in Santa Clarita near her brothers to go to the emergency room and get checked out. I did not want to get stuck in Yuma at the hospital. She woke me up in Ontario at the TA. She said she was feeling better and did not want to spend the money at the ER. I took over and decided that Palm Springs looked like a good place to stop. We went to the ER there and after all night, a Cat Scan, Ultra Sound and a lot of blood tests they determined it was a kidney infection. Antibiotics into the IV, a perscription and off we went. Only because I had called in to update the night FM we lost our load, They had a repower to pick up in Colton so back down the hill and we are now in Dallas for a 6:00 AM delivery in the morning. Anne is starting to feel pretty good.
We have most of the day off tomorrow and already have the Layover authorization and then pick up Fedex in OKC Tuesday morning heading to San Bernardino. We need to get back on scheduleSheepDog and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -

I can say that being sick on the road sucks. My question is what do people do when you need medical help. I hate going to the ER, I will admit I am glad Craig made the decision for me but what do you do when you are sick???
SheepDog Thanks this. -
Craig - I am glad to hear your wife is ok after reading that. I know what that can be like, I passed 3 kidney stones in a truck stop in WV.
SheepDog - Congrads to you and the wife, and I do wish you the best out there.SheepDog Thanks this.
