So my best friend and I are going to be teaming up. But first we are going in to get or CDL first. There is a school called TDI that we will be using to get our CDL. Problem is he lives in Nashville and i live in Louisville. So my question is is that if i go down there to take the CDL classes will i have to change my Drivers licensed over to Tennessee or can i use my current Indiana LIC? Or should i take my CDL classes up here and if i do that how hard will it be for us to team up with a company after CDl training and company training?
I hope i didn't confuse the heck out of you lol

You can only get a CDL issued by the state in which you reside. Proof of residence will be required at the DMV before you can take the test.

Maybe ya should drive for 6 months to a year before the team situation happens..
I know, I know, teams make $200k/ yearly.....
Learn the ropes first, then team. -

Good luck to the both of you! May God be with the both of you! -
Use your buddies address for taking the test then transfer your license once you pass the test. That is the a lot of schools do it.
I would seriously reconsider driving with a friend though. I know way to many lost friendships from team driving. -
Ask him if you can use his address and then you both have TN license. You can probably get some receipts at Office Depot and write some rental receipts like you rent a room in his house. Tell the DMV you moved to TN recently and need to change your drivers license. Might need one month or two months rent receipt. I'm not sure how long TN gives to change the license over.
Many companies will hire you to run teams together; that part is no problem.
CRST
deBoer Transportation
CTL Transportation
Tyson Foods
Schneider Bulk - good one
US Express
Paschall Truck Lines
Another option is to call the companies you're interested in and ask, if you live in Louisville with a KY license will they let you team with your friend in Nashville. For example, Louisville is in the hiring zone for Watkins-Shepard in Berea, but Nashville may not be for your friend. Schneider Bulk just hired a new CDL grad from Chattanooga for their Nashville facility, but Louisville resident, maybe not. You need to make some phone calls.
