Well ill show you what little I know, lol.
CARB is the California Air Resources Board. They are the geniuses passing all the regulations for exhaust emissions and similar truck stuff in California. Pretty soon you will have to meet certain requirements on the truck, in order to drive there.
However...there are lots of exclusions and the like...and basically for the most part from what I understand....their rules are really going to hurt the OTR drivers and companies that go to CA.
Its going to only allow certain engine years into the state. Im fuzzy on the details here...but in a few years or so...you will haev to have an 08 or newer engine...and then down the line...a 2010 engine...etc.Bobg Thanks this. -

I got it now. My son works for Navistar in Fort Wayne and before that Detroit Diesel and he's been telling me about them. Sounds like a real pain. He said when he worked for DD when they were testing them on engines that they needed to replace the air filter on the test engines every 15 minutes or they couldn't meet the regs.
