rough right now, no freight, lots of trucks sitting as is everyone else. company treats me good but right now i'd make more money working for mcdonalds down the street for 70 hours a week.
-
that sucks. when do you expect freight to pick up? good "starter company"?

Not that they're begging, but flatbedders and reefer drivers have more responsibility and more technical jobs, thus higher pay. The extra money also makes up for running less miles due to tarping and, for reefers, waiting at grocery warehouses and such.

I'm not a refer fan, I pull dry van, but I'm sure refer's have an advantage right now - everybody buys food. On the dry side, we have diapers and toilet paper! Lets just hang in there and hope for the best. DRIVE SAFE

I drove for Roehl before retiring for good. I found them to be a very good company. I had a couple of minor issues with them but they were cleared up by phoning my dispatcher or fleet manager. I have been retired for a year and a half now,so I dont know what freight is like out there right now.I do know that Roehl had several good contracts a couple of yrs.ago, one of the being Volkswagen.I hauled several loads from a VW plant in NJ to WI.

I am a flatbedder with Roehl right now. IT has gotten slower and I have had somedays where I sit waiting for a load. As far as miles, I guess you take what you get. I fortunately found a local driving job where I am home every weekend and home most very night as well. I start at the end of November. IT is refrigerated, but I decided to take anything local that has me home at nights.
