King,my friend,Did I not 2 million posts back in this thread say that I hoped you were not getting your info from the VOLVO SITE? If the net was rolling back when Ford made Pintos...they would have had the same studies showing how safe they were and blah blah. It's SALES PROPAGANDA you are linking to.

It is hilarious that this thread turned into 15 pages so far of love/hate fest for a particular brand.

I see that only the age of the boys, the brand of vehicle, and the price of the vehicle has changed from the school yard days of Ford versus Chevy.

If a safe truck is your only concern and nothing else will do ya...buy you a Volvo( you should be able to get an '06 for about a $ 107.22 plus throw a pocket knife in for boot. Thats if you get one wilth ALL the goodies).Pull the motor out and just sit in your yard making engine noises.ALL CLASS 8 TRUCKS WILL KILL YOU IF YOU'RE TO GOOFY TO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE ONE.

LMAO...Awww..We're just playing around a bit is all.

I have to say again- if you don't have any practical experience with Volvo trucks, how can you justify anything about Volvo truck. As far I'm watching this dispute you ,Muleskinner ,when doesn't have arguments starting personally assault opponents,i.e. Sandlapper. If you heard something about Volvo it doesn't mean you know it.Just give us facts.BTW nothing personal.:biggrin_25512:

My uncle is a retired insurance guy from Corning NY. For those interested PM me and I will provide you his name. He has insured hundreds of trucks and has said Volvo's are insured to full replacement value. The next truck would be Pete and a KW.

My comment wasn't meant to be a smack down. Just posting an observation that I found was hilarious.

    I'm not that much of a tight ###. :biggrin_25523:

Actually I didn't assault anybody at this forum. And I'm asking you just tell us facts about Volvo, not your emotions-as professional drivers and owner-operators of Volvo trucks we'll accept facts.Just act as mature person, not as a kid.

King...you seem VERY honest and good intentioned. You just have an ever so slight audio reception problem. That has nothing to do with the safety of the truck.I'm sure you could research for a while and find sites, studies etc etc that will side with you on anything you want.Religion and politics are good examples of this. But you have NO PROOF.It's no big deal...unless....You want to keep spouting it,you need PROOF.Some Dude working a desk selling insurance is not going to cut it.

lol...no,I knew what you meant and I agree with ya...Everyone who's posting in this thread is right and both are wrong...It's just something to do.

King ANY THING can be insured to full value if you want to pay the cost of the premium.

Here is some thing else to ponder on your safety and full value considerations.

A Volvo's shell is almost completely made from fiberglass, on a KW only the hood is fiberglass. Dunno about Petes etc.

When a Volvo wrecks the body just explodes into lots of pieces, where as other brands don't.
In a fire none of them stand up. Aluminum melts when it gets hot enough.

Bottom line if a Volvo was the end all truck that some here think it is, neither you nor I could ever afford one because EVERY ONE would want one. Demand would price them out of most of our price range.

The truck in the following pic can get 7.5 mpg loaded. I know, I used to own it. For over 300,000 miles, so don't go hating on other brands. It even has the hated 3406E CAT engine in it. 7.5 loaded..... think about it before hating it.
