That really makes me feel any better Pete. I was hoping to get one once I got trucking. But oh crap, now i can not due to mother fuel prices up crap creek. I just will have to lease from someone good and customize my own truck.

It can still be done. I'm just in a hole that I dug for myself. I'm getting by pretty well on what I have. Just alot of factors there that makes it next to impossible for me to buy another one anytime soon. Fuel prices are right at the top of the problem list. Also how, where, and what I want to run limits me. Just made 2 bad decisions. Would have broke my heart anyway to see either truck sitting there wasting away. Both were paid for so... it could have been done. Atleast the large car is in good hands. :biggrin_2553:

You can still rooster cruise and make money, just have to pull the right loads.......... I hear the coke rates went up quite a bit :biggrin_2551: hehe just kidding. I get 5mpg and i make good money, just dont haul that cheap crap of the load boards. The way i see it 5mpg and a truck that i run 4500 miles a week, i come home shut the door and dont worry about a thing, dont need to fix anything on it. I do not want to start crap with the volvo guys again trust me thats not where im going, but my good friends volvo is in the shop after every trip. Maybe he just got lucky?

Ziggy, That's why I like the Freightliner dash in the FLD's/XL Classic's. I like the Columbia but the way the knob's are set up does make it a bit difficult. The FLD dash setup has both knob's right at your finger tip's and you don't have to reach for them. Another good thing about that set up is that the parking brake in on the right and the trailer brake on the left that way you can just stick your thumb on the trailer brake and hold it while popping the parking brake. The KW is setup the same way but it's right by the cup holder under the the dash an is a pain to get to. At least to me it is anyway and I didn't really care for it. I've been thinking for a good while now about asking Freightliner if they could move them over in the FLD "setup" on the Century's and Columbia's. That right there plus get rid of the Detroit's and I wouldn't want to drive any other make of truck.

Pete's are sweet and continue the classic style but are some what heavier. The reason Volvo's ride so good is because how heavy they are. I never did like the look of the Volvo's inside and out. They just didn't do it for me. Just my $.02

To compare dashboards on Pete's,KW's,Western Star's,Freightliners and Volvo's-I used to drive on all of them and have to pick Volvo's dashboard as most convenient(Gauges easy to read, all knobs easy to reach).:biggrin_25525:

I will agree with D16 with Volvo being the most user friendly but I will know once I go to get my CDL in Jan I will be most likely driving a Freightliner Century.

I don't know what model KW or Petes you've racked all of your massive amount of time up in:smt003,but I've never sat in a W900l,359 or 379 that I couldn't reach what I needed to reach or see what I needed to see.I'll admit I've never paid much attention to the dash on a Volvo, but the next time I see one either turned over in a ditch, broke down beside the road or in a junkyard I'll stop and put eye marks on its dash and check back in with you as to my opinion.:tool:
