Tell me about Volvos

Oh i drove a 1000hp CAT today, mine.

 

Could you put a CAT in a Volvo truck? Also, why does Volvo only offer cummins as your only alternative instead of Detroit diesel? I need to learn something today.

Saying you drove a high HP truck with a CAT engine is like saying "hey lookie at me, truck shiney...and I have a cat engine...a truck engine manufacturor that is struggling and not sure what their future holds as most companies now are going with other engines, or they are makign their own...and we are having a heckuva time meeting the EPA standards"

 

I drive on a daily basis. I could care less that they are struggling, as far as im concerned CAT stopped making anything i could care for in 2003 do to stupid california tree huggers...... I guess im just crabby i dont mean to come of as an ###, but Mr. ASE has no clue about cat, yes you can play with computer programming but not on a CAT.

No you cannot stick a CAT in a volvo, they stopped back in 98. There was issues with CAT engines being to heavy and volvo not having sufficient cooling for them, also they were a pain to work on with more than half the engine was stuck under the cab. Everyone stopped putting in detroit engine after friehgtliner bought em out, most pete and kw dealers wont even work on them.

To MY eyes, a Peterbilt is the finest looking Big truck on the road. IMO, the only Big truck better than a 1,000 HP KW -- would be a 1,000 HP Pete.
Hands down.

 

I actually wouldnt sell this truck to anyone, it has electrical issues, mysterious engine misfires, a/c issues, electric fan issues, hvac issues.... Its what you get when you buy a truck that was previously salvaged. Its going back to the dealer, im returning the motor to stock, and im picking up a nice and clean ex hd 379 flat top with a single turbo kitty and putting all my stuff back into that motor.
