Actually, now that I'm thinking about it....

Team drivers earn more, right? I mean, the truck keeps moving so more money.

I doubt we'll end up doing that. We'll be at each others throats after 3 months anyway. :biggrin_25523:

    How much do you PAY?:biggrin_2559:

Hey IFM, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are in a bit of a bind right now, but have a way to work out of it. Good for you.

Living with two families under one roof can be a real trial at times. Unfortunately, with the economy the way it is, there are more and more people having to do it. There is no need for embarrassment on your part, it is just one of the facts of life.

As another poster said, having your family with your wife's mother is very likely to play in your favor, in a lot of different ways. It is tough on everyone when dad is away and things happen at home. The water heater goes out, the kid gets sick, mama has a rough day and really needs to have you there to help her out. And you are stuck half way across the country, headed even further away. . .

Your training with a friend may actually be a two edged sword. As long as your friendship does not get in the way of the training, everything should be all right. But remember, friendship is friendship, but work is work. And it is HIS truck you are learning in.

Overall though, I would say you are lucky.

Even though you guys are friends you are in a business setting and should heed to your friends advice and training as though he were a stranger. Bite your tongue and do as he says. Also, his truck is his home so just respect his space. It sounds funny thinking of it like that but you will see once you have your truck. You spend so much time in the truck and even though it rolls and is small it is still your personal domain. It is kind of weird, when you get a hotel for a night and then go back to your truck you still say to yourself, "ahh home again!" You will get to the point where your "home" where your family is, will feel strange. You usually don't sleep that well outside of your truck either. Any way back to my rambling point, make sure you draw the line between your friendship and your business affairs and you guys should do fine. Good luck.

IFM, Welcome to TTR forum. It appears that you are going into this with the best possible chance of succeeding. Good luck and keep up the posting. We'll be following your story and rooting for you to succeed. Yes it will be a hard road to go down, but if you have the right stuff, this can be the best career you can have, IMHO.
