Try looking into companies that have higher age requirements like 23 or 25 or something. I've spent a long time on this forum and if you look really carefully every now and then someone will drop the name of a company some were. and of course i go and look em up and It almost always turns out to be a great company. ie- Nice well maintained trucks and trailers, small company, GOOD pay and benefits.

I have also noticed that the more specialized you get, the better the Trucks, Pay, Benefits, Miles, low driver turnover. The more and more research I do the more appealing flat bedding is becoming.

here are some that I have come to find:

    Dynamic Transit
    Builders Transportation
    Boyd Bros
    Hill Brothers Transportation
    Marten
    Melton Truck Lines
Hirschbach Motor Line "just merged with Van Pak"
    MGM Transport
    First Fleet
    JCT "if you wanna lease"
    Western Distributing Transportation Company

Rockland at least is about hour and a half south of me. Freindship is inland of the coast. It will be really nice when you make it here. May usually is the one season that we locals get our summer before the tourists start making it a crap shoot to drive anywhere.

PM me if you really want to hook up.

Actually, I was up there late last April and was able to pretty much "free wheel" around the little burgs near Friendship. Many of the "seasonal" shops were closed. Even though spring had not sprung at that time, I still took over 500 pictures. The door-to-door round trip from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where I started and eventually ended the trip, was only about 3300 miles, I logged over 4500 miles on the rental car. I'm excited about my upcoming trip, particularly since it will likely be my last leisure time before I kick this trucking deal in gear.

I just stumbled across this web site:

    http://www.onlinetruckers.com/?page=company-listing

Click on where it says company listings at the top

Then click your region on the map

    Then select your state

Then look through pages and pages of companies that hire out of your state!

I just found a bunch I had never heard of, and allot that we've all heard of lol

it's worth checking out only a few of the companies i hadn't heard of hire newbies but a ton of them hire with 1-2 yrs experience.
