After reading ya'lls posts, I feel behind the times....
I run a Icom IC-207 Dual band to a home brew J pole about 30', an Icom IC-W32A Dual band H/T, and a Kenwood TK-730/830 commercial dual band mobile (not installed anywhere at the moment).
I run the 207 off of a MFJ 20 amp power supply.
I also have an old Hallicrafters S-53 receiver that sits pretty beneath an old Regency Monitoradio scanner.
Holding off on another radio until I figure out who I am going to drive for and if I can figure out a good way to run a MKIIG in a truck.

I ran my FT-857D in the truck. The radios body was in the bunk and the control head mounted under my stereo head unit. I had that dual band J-poleon the right mirror.
I had not thought to list my power supply. I run a commercial 60Amp power supply. I have this set up tied into a relay that will switch to battery backup automaticly. For battery backup I run 2 marine batteries that are stashed out in the garage and are kept charged by a microprocessor controled battery charger. I can run for days with out a recharge. -
Yep, you can never have enough back up power... I have 4 extra Marine batts. also.. I hate getting caught with my pants down when the lights go out.. It happend twice to me when I first became a Ham ... Not any more.. I run Anderson Power pole conectores on EVERYTHING I have. Makes it nice for quick hook-ups. Plus our ARES/RACES uses them also.. So if any of the raidos goes gunny bag I can hook mine in place.. Neve miss a beat....

Yea, I will probably do that with the marine batteries...And as far as those anderson power poles, you hit the nail on the head...Sad part is, my dad is a distributor for APP and I can have all I want, I still have not made the converson...

Hello everyone . . . Anthony here again .
Well my little set up is nothing like some of you guys .
But it's still tons of fun to see how far I can get out .
Just a little Connex 4600 With my Astatic D-104 lollipop " They call it a special " although someone told me it was called a Blackfoot Black matte top, silver chicken choker and black matte bottom.
I have a 52 Amp power supply and my Cheap little Solarcon antenna in my tree about 85 ft.
We have lots of people on the band around here , some guys pushing well over 1000 watts and I still make it over all of them .
My dream radio as of this time is the IC 7800, that radio is just so pretty looking !
A ton of cash I know , but a man has to have his dreams don't he ?:smt001 -
