    Hi there,

We operate an event planning conpany that put on events across the Midwest and East Coast. This spring, we have 6 events in different locations over the course of 6 weekends. They are as far NE as Portland, ME and as far West as Grand Rapids, MI. We are based out of Chicago.

So our issue is we need someone based near Chicago that would essentially be our logistics coordinator and driver. Each week they would load in boxes that we need for the event that weekend from the storage space near Chi. They would then tow our 24 ft. trailer to the event location to arrive by Wednesday morning. Once the event is over on Saturday afternoon, they would tow the trailer back to Chi and then repeat the following week.

Are there services or individuals out there that could do that?

Another added duty would be to help setting up for the event and even coordinating event day parking that Saturday morning.

If anyone has any advice it would truly be appreciated. I have this idea in my head but have no idea if this is even possible. Thanks in advance!

You might try Lessors Inc, Eagan, MN. I know they do some contact work for various major musical groups, moving stages, and event production equipment, and such

And maybe North American Van Lines or Mayflower ... trade show divisions

Depends how much you want to pay. If I would do it, I would charge what my daily net revenue would be if I was hauling freight, even if I was not moving the truck. Might be cheaper for you to hire a truck just to deliver the trailer and hire another person to do the coordination

Oh I'd love to land an account like this, but we're in PA/NC primarily. We DO buisness in Chicago but don't have anyone based there.

We tried to land an account like this once before (I think it was with Jeep, or a marketing firm tied to them. Had to set up the "off road" track for weekend ride & drives at fairs & festivals) none of our drivers would take it. It required a firm 8-10 weeks out. Going to one city a week then sitting for 3 days. The cites were pretty close together too. Probably less than 5000 miles for the whole 2 months. (That's about 2 weeks of driving).

Boss actually offered a salary for the whole job, still no takers. At the time, we didn't have any/many single, childless drivers. It was too much time away from home for our spouses, regardless of pay.
